Internet has become one of the trends these days. With the growing wind of time, popularity of internet is increasing. All the business markets have decided to develop one website for their own business. This is not an end of it but even individuals have started to develop a website for them to make it as a side business.

But, have you think that what does that matter through which you are able to locate the website? What happens when you enter a URL into your browser’s URL box? Let me tell you. When you enter a URL, browser looks for an IP address for that URL and reaches at the location of IP address to display the details in your browser.

So, what is IP Address then? IP address is nothing but a string of numeric digit that represents the identity of a computer or other network device on an internet. Let me tell you one more thing is that the IP addresses are also used in the wireless communication where communication happens without connecting the wire. Even though, it is wireless connection the method of using IP address is all the same and device that provides the medium is wireless router that transmits the waves catch by wireless receiver. Let us look at the wireless router and the way IP address is used in them.

All the routers have Internet Protocol address which is used as address for the LAN (Local Area Network) and one IP address is used for WAN (Wide Area Network). WAN IP address receives the data from the outside and LAN IP address actually communicates with the computer by providing the incoming data to computer. LAN IP Address is generally set to default factory address depends on manufacturer and writing http://192.168.1.0 (as an example) would open the router setting in the browser for user to access.

If you don’t know the router’s IP address, it is easy to find. To find this out, you can do two things. First you can search for the user manual of the router and if you don’t have it, you can visit the website of the manufacturer of the router and check for its default IP address. If you are still not able to do it and if you are running a MS Windows operating system on your machine, you should go to command prompt and should type ipconfig and the IP Address that comes as default gateway would be the IP address of your router.
